A Life Changing Light
It was rainy and dark: a long dreary day
My life was full of troubles, that's all I can say
Full of despair, I seemed to be alone
All hope and help seemed to be gone
I said to myslef, I do not want to live
I have nothing left which to give
Surely there must be a Light to shine
That I can claim just for mine
It was then that I looked outside to see
The sun breaking through just for me
Oh what a wonder, what a beautiful sight
My life seemed to change when I looked at the light
This is what happens when a person can see
A life changing light just for me
Now I've been given a reason to live
Because of a Life that Jesus did give.

A New Year's Wish
Perhaps a bit wiser, a bit kinder, too
A little bit braver, a heart that's more true,
A touch of believing I've not known before,
In joys I'm receiving a little bit more.
A little more anxious to reach out my hand,
Despite hurt or problems to still understand,
Accepting the heartache that life often brings,
A little more beauty in life's simple things.
A prayer when I'm weary as onward I trod,
A little more trusting, believing in God,
'Tis this I would wish for within moments dear,
Not a lot - just a little this wondrous new year.
